Culinary Knights aims to serve those in the community considered society's "marginalized" population. The plan is to operate a store-front while offering training in the food service industry. Training will be comprehensive from back-to-front-of-house preparation to service. Participants will learn basic kitchen etiquette, knife skills, customer service, problem solving, and on-the-job training. An option to obtain a ServSafe certificate, a California food handler's card, will be offered at the end of their instruction. Our intention is to gather momentum and evolve into a full-service restaurant/cafe with a space to continue instruction and this program. This expanded version of our space would include a culinary garden and an extended barista program.
